E21: Water for People Cycle the West Orange Bicycle Trail
Attention bicycling enthusiasts! Join your WEFTEC friends as we pedal to raise awareness and funds to support Water For People. The world-class West Orange Trail is the venue for our second annual ride. It is a rails-to-trail path that winds through the communities of Winter Garden and Apopka. The continuous changes in scenery and the relaxed atmosphere of the towns along the way will make for a great ride.
WEF members and guests of all cycling abilities are encouraged to join in the ride. All participants will be divided into three groups, each group riding at a pace and a distance suited to their abilities. A water bottle will be provided. All participants in the event will receive a colorful cycling jersey. Please make your reservation early because we are limited to 75 riders.
The start of the ride is approximately 20 miles from the Orange County Convention Center. Details on carpooling and sharing taxi rides to the bike shop from the Convention Center and/or major hotels will be sent to you after registration. If you have any questions, please contact George Patrick.
The cost of the ride is $60 for riders who have their own bicycle and helmet, and $90 for riders who will need to rent equipment.
