W215 Reclaimed Water Facilities: Meeting Existing and Emerging Challenges

Track: Water Reclamation & Reuse
When: Sunday, October 11, 2009, 8:30am - 5:00pm
Where: Orange County Convention Center, Room 306, Level 3
This workshop will provide engineering and other public health professionals from government agencies, consulting firms, municipalities, and industry the latest information on the increasingly complex challenge of designing wastewater systems for reuse and recharge. Owners and operators of facilities with more than one discharge point need to consider how to cost-effectively implement multiple disinfection strategies while meeting the varied needs of multiple end users. The workshop will:
  • Provide a detailed review of conventional and alternative technology options
  • Present issues and challenges for both pathogen and microconstitutents removal
  • Explain design considerations that need to be evaluated in selecting unit processes to achieve multiple goals and objectives

Hands-on interactive exercises and quiz-show segments popular in past workshops will be used to reinforce learning.
