W214 A Practical Guide for Utility Asset Management
Track: Utility Management When: Sunday, October 11, 2009, 8:30am - 5:00pm
Where: Orange County Convention Center, Room 304F, Level 3
This workshop will identify, explore, and synthesize sustainability and improvement elements essential to a sound utility asset management (AM) program. While municipalities understand the importance of AM principles, it hasn’t always been an easy path to follow, since implementation can be daunting because of the inherent complexity and comprehensive nature of AM programs. The focus of this workshop moves beyond understanding the principles of asset management to the actual delivery of sustainability and improvement. Attendees will receive:
Information and tools they can use to jump-start or improve their programs
Practical answers to the critical questions of sustainability, including required cultural changes and the key steps for a sound program
The workshop will be presented, using an approach that is fun as well as informative, by a team of senior professionals who have designed, managed, and guided programs that have delivered measurable positive results.
