W104 Improving O&M Reliability and Cost Effectiveness Using Advanced Maintenance Practices Track: Facility Operations When: Saturday, October 10, 2009, 8:30am - 5:00pm Where: Orange County Convention Center, Room 308A, Level 3 This workshop provides an overview of strategic maintenance management, advanced maintenance practices, and the fundamentals necessary for moving to a best-in-class maintenance organization. Attendees will gain insight to a practical and structured approach that can help their organization break out of a reactive maintenance work mode that often results from the multiple challenges facing modern utilities. The program will be especially helpful to those who have started the journey to proactive maintenance but are challenged, for example, by excessive preventive maintenance tasks and by the ongoing pressure of equipment failures. The workshop will help attendees build an organization with advanced maintenance and reliability practices and improved, cost-effective performance. Attendees will learn how to build strategies and develop a road map that can be used to jump-start or realign the maintenance function of their organization. The workshop will also provide time to talk with speakers and fellow maintenance professionals to discuss common issues, concerns, and new ways of implementing maintenance practices.
